Doubt can be a killer or a catalyst to faith.
Great faith often starts with honest doubt.
When we asked you to submit your doubts at the beginning of this series, almost all of them fell into one of these categories:
- Unanswered prayers
- Pain
- Difficulty
- Death
These are all way of asking the question - “If there’s a God why does he allow THAT to happen?”
Together, this list is full of all the main reasons that people walk away from the faith and from God.
In this world you will have trouble. —John 16:33 NIV

Jesus and John the Baptist
1After Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in the towns of Galilee.
2When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples 3to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”
4Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: 5The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. 6Blessed is anyone who doesn’t stumble on account of me. —Matthew 11:1-5 NIV
Even Jesus pleads with God not to suffer. In the Garden of Gethsemane, he prays:
“My Father, if it is possible, don’t make me suffer by drinking from this cup. But do what you want, and not what I want.” —Matthew 26:39 CEV

A New Heaven and A New Earth
1Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” —Revelation 21:1-4 NIV
