• Ever since the beginning he has tried to destroy man from Adam and Eve, to this present day!

• The battle is all around us whether we see it or not

• The people had started to worship idols and had forgotten the

  of the Lord

Then the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord gave them into the hands of Midian seven years —Judges 6:1

• Today we also have idols and things that we put before God in our lives,

• The enemy has perfected his tactics and uses specific things that consistently work to get God’s people off track!

• The devil uses deception:

• If somebody punches you in the face it’s obvious that you’re in a fight!

• The devil knows how to disguise himself so he doesn’t reveal he’s the one attacking you,
• Satan: doesn’t come out and say I’m attacking you! He knows that won’t work.
• Even a newborn baby Christian has more power and authority over the enemey!

So how do we defend our homes?

1. - Identity

• Because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds which are in the mountains.” —Judges 6:2

• We are given an identity and authority over the enemy by Jesus and we have to operate with

2. - Remove Idols

the Lord said to him, “Take your father’s bull and a second bull seven years old, and pull down the altar of Baal which belongs to your father, and cut down the Asherah that is beside it —Judges 6:25
