CP Group Discussion Questions
- Ask a volunteer to sum up the story of Saul of Tarsus’ conversion (Acts 9:1-19). After they are finished, ask the group if any key details need further explaining.
- Jesus used physical blindness to make Saul of Tarsus aware of his own spiritual blindness. After Saul of Tarsus becomes known as the Apostle Paul, he devotes his life to teaching others and helping them “open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God.” (Acts 26:18) Mike taught about two things that can spiritually blind us: Rebellion and Religion. As a group, discuss how we can become blinded by these two things.
- The message of the Pharisees was essentially: “Do the right things, and then you can follow me.” However, Jesus’ message is: “Follow me, and you will do the right things.” Why is this distinction important? What are the differences between the two?
- Ask if anyone in the group would like to share a “Damascus Road” moment from their own life. A “Damascus Road” moment is when the blinders of rebellion or religion came off and Jesus gave sight the see that He really is enough. If you have time, ask for others to share their story as well.
