Living Wisely
Part of A Little Bit of Wisdom
April 29, 2019

Wisdom is the most important thing; so get wisdom. If it costs everything you have, get understanding. —Proverbs 4:7 (NCV)

Wisdom - skilled living

There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. —Proverbs 14:12 (NLT)

In her right hand Wisdom holds a long life, and in her left hand are wealth and honor. Wisdom makes life pleasant and leads us safely along. Wisdom is a life-giving tree, the source of happiness for all who hold on to her. —Proverbs 3:16-18 (CEV)

Listen to God’s Word every day.

It is the Lord who gives wisdom; from him come knowledge and understanding. —Proverbs 2:6 (NLT)

Bible in One Year

Enlist friends who are wise.

Spend time with the wise and you will become wise, but the friends of fools will suffer. —Proverbs 13:20 (NCV)

Ask the right questions.

Counsel in the heart of a man is like deep water: but a wise man will draw it out. —Proverbs 20:5 (DRA)

Remember what you learn.

Listen, and I will teach you what the wise have said. Study their teachings, and you will be glad if you remember them and can quote them. —Proverbs 22:17-18 (GNT)

Now do it!

Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to his word; instead, put it into practice. If you listen to the word, but do not put it into practice you are like people who look in a mirror and see themselves as they are. They take a good look at themselves and then go away and at once forget what they look like. But if you look closely into the perfect law that sets people free, and keep on paying attention to it and do not simply listen and then forget it, but put it into practice—you will be blessed by God in what you do. —James 1:22-25 (GNT)
