
In the book of Genesis, we read a story of an amazing young man. Joseph traveled some very difficult days. Days filled with unexpected twists, turns, and people. Through his story we learn how to step into the unknown with the confidence that comes only with a close relationship with our God.
1. When abandoned by people
“The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” Psalm 118:6 (NLT = New Living Translation)
“I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” Hebrews 13:6 (NLT)
2. Find your
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)
God’s story for your life is
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
God is faithful to
“I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
3. God will use your unknowns for
20 “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.” Genesis 50:20 (NLT)

Describe a time you were treated unfairly by another person. How did you respond?
Read Psalm 118:6 and Hebrews 13:6. How does it make you feel to know that when people let you down, God never will?
Read Ephesians 2:10. You are God’s masterpiece! Brainstorm and discuss the different ways God views you. How does this make you feel when people view you differently?
Read Joseph’s response to his brothers in Genesis 50:20. How does it make you feel to consider that God will take what others meant for harm and use it for His good?
