2 Corinthians 5:8
We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the
body and at home with the Lord.
Series Key Truth – In Christ We Win!
Revelation 21:5 – He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything
new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Key Word – Eschatology: the study of last things
Key Truth – When it comes to eschatology, lean into literal interpretation.
The Four Main Theories of Eschatology
1. Amillennialism – The millennium is happening right now followed by the final
judgment of Christ.
2. Postmillennialism – There is a symbolic millennium through which Jesus’
kingdom is advanced through the gospel followed by a second coming and
judgment of Christ.
3. Premillennialism – There will be a period of tribulation followed by Christ’s
return, followed by a 1,000-year reign on earth, and followed by a final judgment.
4. Dispensationalism – Jesus returns and raptures believers, followed by a 7-year
tribulation, followed by Jesus’ return for the rest of the believers, followed by a
1,000-year reign of Christ on Earth, and followed by a final judgment.
Revelation 1:1-3
The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what
must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of
Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and
blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the
time is near.
Key Word – Revelation: a symbolic vision that reveals, makes known, gives insight
into events.
Key Word – Prophecy: a proclamation of God’s plan for the present and not just the
future.
1. There's hope and happiness in the fact that God is going to fulfill His plans.
2. There's hope and happiness because His plan centers around Jesus Christ.
