Warm Up Question: Share a story about someone who was a powerful example for you in some area of life? [Today we are going to see the power of a living example.]

HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
1. Read 1 Corinthians 4. What are the three examples that Paul sets for the church in Corinth?

  1. Why does Paul send Timothy to the Corinthians?

  2. Why did Paul call himself a spiritual father?

  3. What is the difference between a teacher and a spiritual parent?

  4. Is every believer called to be a spiritual parent, or just church leaders?

HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
6. How do you react to the idea of becoming a “spiritual parent”?

  1. Can anyone share an example of someone who has had the role of a spiritual parent in their life?

HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
8. Who are a living example for right now? How could you be more intentional to set that example?
9. If you haven’t already, share the 1:1 Discipleship Guide brochures with your small group. Ask them:

· Do you have any questions about 1:1 Discipleship?

· Can you see yourself doing this, why or why not?

· Would you pray about being discipled or discipling someone else?
