Hebrews 10:23-25 (NLT)
23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
9 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor.
10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.
11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
MAIN IDEA: You need the right people
PARTNERSHIP: (Gk) koinonia {koy-nohn-ee’-ah} which means “fellowship or intimacy; partnership and participation.” It means to be so closely bound together that there is open and mutual sharing. What one has belongs to the other.
PARTNERSHIP is POWERFUL because….
1.PARTNERSHIP is
PROBLEM: Partnership doesn’t DIVIDE it MULTIPLIES Reward.
PARTNERSHIP emphasizes: not only the RESPONSIBILITY we have to “one another”, but also the BENEFITS that come from having someone that you can refer to as “another.”
SOLUTION: PARTNERSHIP is PROFITABLE because it multiplies our reward.
2.PARTNERSHIP is
God gives us partners and our partners help our productivity. In marriage he gives us husbands and wives. In families he gives us brothers and sisters. In life he gives us friends and companions. There is a strength and productivity that we can only find in the partnership with somebody else.
PROBLEM: Self-Sufficiency leaves me empty, because my greatest needs can’t be met in my own ability.
We need the right people to warm us on those days when life turns cold; when the east wind of trouble blows our way; when we are buried under a blizzard of heartache; when the chill of depression and discouragement freezes our very heart. We need the heat of a hug, the warmth of a word from someone who will encourage us. Two are more productive than one.
SOLUTION: PARTNERSHIP is PRODUCTIVE because our needs are met.
3.PARTNERSHIP is
Everybody needs somebody. If anybody feels like they don’t need somebody, then nobody can help or protect them.
PROBLEM: Deception results in Isolation; Isolation results in Destruction, because in Isolation we have no Protection.
As you walk down the rocky road of life, there are at least TWO TIMES when you are going to go down: Sometimes you’re going to FALL DOWN (self-inflicted); other times you’re going to be KNOCKED DOWN (others-inflicted).
SOLUTION: PARTNERSHIP is PROTECTIVE because whether we fall or get knocked down, we get picked up.
In conclusion, You need the right people IN your life to fulfill God’s assignment ON your life. PARTNERSHIP is POWERFUL because: it’s PROFITABLE (it multiplies our reward). PARTNERSHIP is PRODUCTIVE because (our needs are met). PARTNERSHIP is PROTECTIVE because (when we fall or get knocked down, we can be picked back up). This is WHY the having the right people in your life is so important. You can not fulfill God’s assignment ON your life without the right people IN your life.
