
The Call is for You

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. — Romans 8:28
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. — Ephesians 1:18-19
I. My calling is a
A. God, by his grace through Christ, called you to become his people. — Galatians 1:6 (NCV)
B. He has saved us and called us to a holy life — not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. — 2 Timothy 1:9
II. I’m called for
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. — Ephesians 2:10
III. God chose my calling before I was
A. But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. — Galatians 1:15 (NLT)
B. I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations. — Jeremiah 1:5
C. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. — Psalm 139:15-16
D. I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born. Israel, don’t be terrified! You are my chosen servant, my very favorite. — Isaiah 44:2 (CEV)
IV. My
I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. — I Timothy 1:12-14
V. There’s a
A. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. — Philippians 3:14
B. … encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory. — I Thessalonians 2:12
