Is God Angry All The Time? - Message Study Questions

Message Summary

Is God Angry? Yes. God, as the perfectly holy and righteous God, is angry with the evil in this world and His divine wrath will make it right. But God is also abounding in love, mercy, and faithfulness. By the blood of Jesus, we step out of God’s wrath and into His Kingdom of Light as His protected child. As God’s child, is He angry with you? No. He wants the best for you.

He doesn’t want you to try to clean yourself up first and work your way towards Him. Just come home like the prodigal son. God is the God of second chances. He is slow to anger and abounding in love and mercy. Let our witness to others include both the wrath of God, along with His mercy, love, and faithfulness. May we work out our sanctification – growing in our holiness as we grow closer to God in full view of the wrath we have been saved from and with great appreciation for the love and mercy that surrounds us.

    • What position do you have if you are “in Christ”?

    • Why did God give what He gave?

  3. What else do we have “in Christ” according to the following; Ephesians 1:3-5, 4:32, Romans 6:23, and 2 Corinthians 5:17.

  4. How do we get what we have in Christ, according to Ephesians 2:8-9? (see also John 1:12 and Romans 3:21-22)

  5. How does doing good fit into our relationship with God (Ephesians 2:10)?

  6. Why is it sometimes difficult to believe we can gain God’s forgiveness through faith in Christ alone?

  7. How does God see you now that you are in Christ, according to 2 Corinthians 5:21?

  8. Read Romans 7:21-25. Like Paul, it is easy to see our daily struggle with our imperfections. Like Paul, what is the answer to this struggle according to Romans 8:1?

  9. How do we move forward and find a progressively increasing measure of victory and closeness to God according to Galatians 5:16, 25, Philippians 4:13 and John 14:21, 15:5?
