How Can I Live at Peace With Others?
December 20, 2020

“The reality is that there will never be peace in the world until there’s peace within nations. And there will never be peace in our nation until there’s peace in our communities. There won’t be peace in our communities until there’s peace in our families. And there won’t be peace in our families until there’s peace in our individual lives. That won’t happen until the Prince of Peace reigns in our hearts. Jesus came at Christmas to bring to us three kinds of peace: Peace with God. The Peace of God. Peace with Others.” —Rick Warren, Purpose Driven Christmas

Peace with God

Even when we were God’s enemies, He made peace with us, because His Son died for us. Yet something even greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, we will be saved by His Son’s life.
Romans 5:10

Peace of God

3 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! 4 Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal Rock.
Isaiah 26:3,4

Peace with Others

Matthew 5:9

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse… 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord.
Romans 12:14,16-19
