Living by faith doesn’t happen by accident but by intentionally aligning our lives with God’s purpose.
“Good intentions” are not a substitute for being “intentional.”
Ephesians 5:15-17 | TLB So be careful how you act; these are difficult days. Don’t be fools; be wise: make the most of every opportunity you have for doing good. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but try to find out and do whatever the Lord wants you to.
Our Methods may change but our mission stays the same.
Josiah
Manasseh.
2 Kings 21:16 | NIV84 Moreover, Manasseh also shed so much innocent blood that he filled Jerusalem from end to end—besides the sin that he had caused Judah to commit, so that they did evil in the eyes of the LORD.
Amon
2 Kings 21:20 | NIV84 He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, as his father Manasseh had done.
2 Kings 22:1-2 | NIV84 Josiah… did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and walked in all the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left.
If we’re not intentional about the path we take, we will default to the path we’ve always known.
How’s the path you’re on working for you?
Galatians 6:7-8 | NIV84 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Don’t live an accidental life.
2 Chronicles 35:18 | NIV “The Passover had not been observed like this in Israel since the days of the prophet Samuel.”
2 Kings 23:25 | NIV84 Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the LORD as he did—with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength.
Matthew 16:18 | NLT “I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it”
