James 3:5
(NIV)
“the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark.”
(MSG)
5-6 It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it
Luke 6:45 NIV
“For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of”
1) Pay attention to your thoughts
Philippians 4:8
“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely whatever is admirable, excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things.”
2) Begin your day right
Psalm 5:3
“In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”
3) Renovate your mind
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed by the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good pleasing and perfect will.
NIX NEGATIVITY CHALLENGES:
1) Keep a journal of the thoughts in your mind, especially identify the “negativity triggers”.
2) Set aside 15 minutes each morning this week to spend with God.
3) Use a tool as a reminder—pray a “renovating” prayer.
