IN THE BEGINNING…
Know The Way, Part 1
Genesis 1:1-5; John 3:16
Westland Baptist Church Roy Meadows, Lead Pastor
June 26, 2022

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning - the first day.

To Show The Way, We Go The Way.

To Go The Way, We Need To Know The Way.

People in our culture are traveling very fast. However, many are merely going in non-productive circles. Or, worse, many are traveling in downward spirals. Some have no destination in mind. Even when their goals are noble, many people do not know the way to achieve them.

We must answer the questions:
“Where did I come from?”
“Why am I here?” and
“Where am I going?”

You have two choices from which to get your answers to these questions. You can build your life on rock or sand.
Here’s hoping you choose “THE ROCK”!

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT BEGINNINGS?
1. IN THE BEGINNING, …
2. IN THE BEGINNING, GOD…
3. IN THE BEGINNING, GOD CREATED…
4. IN THE BEGINNING, GOD CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH.
5. NOW THE EARTH WAS FORMLESS AND EMPTY.
6. AND GOD SAID, “LET THERE BE LIGHT.”
7. WHY?

Genesis 1:26-28
26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
