Hebrews 13:3 (NIV)
Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

Acts 2:36 (NIV)
“… God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.”

Luke 2:11 (NIV)
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

Revelation 19:16 (NIV)
On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

2 Corinthians 4:5 (NIV)
For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord … .

“Jesus Is Lord” …

  • Is a saving declaration.

Romans 10:9-13 (NIV)
*If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”* and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile – the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Romans 10:3-4 (NIV)
Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.

A Couple Of Things I Think He Is Talking About …

  • We are submitting to Jesus as the standard for righteousness.

  • We are submitting to Jesus as the way to righteousness.

Romans 5:10 (NIV)
For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

“Jesus Is Lord” …

  • Is a Spirit-led declaration.

1 Corinthians 12:3 (NIV)
Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

Takeaways …

  • The Lordship of Jesus is good news.

Romans 10:13-15 (NIV)
… for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Takeaways …

  • The Lordship of Jesus is good news.

  • The Lordship of Jesus is salvation.
