Series Overview: The purpose of this new series of messages beginning today is to shine a scriptural light on God’s heart for your life’s journey. In fact, that’s why the local church exists! Journey Church exists to help you follow Christ in every step of your journey through life. You’ve been given one life to live and we want to help you live that life with blessing at every step, as God designed your journey to truly be.
MATTHEW 28:18-20 AMP
Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”
Christ has called you to make disciples.
Christ has empowered you to make disciples.
EPHESIANS 2:8-10 NIV
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
GRACE (greek; charis) God’s unmerited favor. God’s supernatural enablement and empowerment.

1 CORINTHIANS 12:4-11 NIV
There are different kinds of gifts. But they are all given to believers by the same Spirit. 5 There are different ways to serve. But they all come from the same Lord. … 8 To some people the Spirit gives a message of wisdom. To others the same Spirit gives a message of knowledge. 9 To others the same Spirit gives faith. To others that one Spirit gives gifts of healing. 10 To others he gives the power to do miracles. To others he gives the ability to prophesy. To others he gives the ability to tell the spirits apart. To others he gives the ability to speak in different kinds of languages they had not known before. And to still others he gives the ability to explain what was said in those languages. 11 All the gifts are produced by one and the same Spirit. He gives gifts to each person, just as he decides.

What is more pleasing to the LORD: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
