
“The Journey of Inconvenience”
Luke 2:1-7 and Matthew 2:11-15 Sunday, December 19, 2021
THE EVENTS OF HISTORY FULFILL GOD’S WILL:
Is God at Work when we are inconvenienced?
I. INCONVENIENCE OF
Isaiah 9:6 “The government shall be upon His Shoulders:
Any governor or government not under the authority of Jesus is against the Kingdom of God, The Word of God and the people of God. Not to fear, function in faith while we are at least aware of this state.
Jesus was born into the rulership of 3 Leaders:
Caesar Augustus – wanted worship as a deity.
Herod – insecure and cruel
Archelaus, (son to Herod)
II. THE INCONVENIENCE OF
A. God used this census to get Mary to Bethlehem: (Micah 5:2)
B. God used these circumstances to fulfill His prophecy:
C. God used this assignment to remind Joseph of his heritage: “the house of David” (2 Samuel 7:1-17) Luke 21:34 Titus 2:12-13
III. THE INCONVENIENCE OF

C. Born to be wrapped in
Cloths used to wrap the legs of the lambs which were perfect to keep they legs straight. Is it not proper then, that the perfect Lamb of God would be wrapped in the very same cloths!
IV. THE INCONVENIENCE OF
A. Over zealous King Herod: (Jealous, selfish,)
B. Overwhelming Responsibility:
C. Ordained Timing: (Joseph was told before Herod’s edict of death) (vs.16-18)
History would suggest Joseph and Mary may have had Jesus in Egypt for between 6-7 years.
