“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have command you.” —Matthew 28:19-20
*What is a disciple, mentioned in our Gospel? (Hint: Include thoughts about how God views your sin; who you count on for any life beyond this one; and, who/what you lean on to focus your mentoring on what’s next for you life…)
*Baptizing and teaching are important aspects of being a true disciple of Jesus. Why and what does each have to contribute to a christian’s faith journey?
*Is Jesus proclaiming an option here for us, or, is this a command? If the latter for you, where are you, today in terms of being obedient? Where do we get the strength to continue in Jesus’ footsteps in view of how broken and corrupt our world is? (See John 14:26)
