4 Laws of Relationships

  1. The Law of

    • Deuteronomy 4:9 “But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.”
    • Deuteronomy 6:12 “be careful not to forget the Lord, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt.”
    • Deuteronomy 8:11 “But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today.”
    • Deuteronomy 8:14 “Do not become proud at that time and forget the Lord your God, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt.”
  2. The Law of

  3. The Law of
    • Numbers 15:40 “The tassels will help you remember that you must obey all my commands and be holy to your God.”
    • Deuteronomy 7:18 “But don’t be afraid of them! Just remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all the land of Egypt.”
    • Deuteronomy 8:18 “Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.”
  4. The Law of

People

to know and be known.

  • Genesis 4:1 “Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, “I have gotten a man with the help of the Lord.””

Knowing starts with listening with the heart.

  • 2 Corinthians 6:11-13 “Oh, dear Corinthian friends! We have spoken honestly with you, and our hearts are open to you. There is no lack of love on our part, but you have withheld your love from us. I am asking you to respond as if you were my own children. Open your hearts to us!”

Knowing requires the three T’s

1 Timothy 5:22-24 “Never be in a hurry about appointing a church leader. Do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure. Don’t drink only water. You ought to drink a little wine for the sake of your stomach because you are sick so often. Remember, the sins of some people are obvious, leading them to certain judgment. But there are others whose sins will not be revealed until later.”
