The Journey Week 2 Reflection Points
February 26, 2023

*Week 1 - Reflection point 1: *

__X __Was there a time when there was nothing, and there had never been anything, ever, at any time, and in any place. THEN from nowhere everything that is, came into being from know where.
Or

Is there “something” (matter, alien intelligence, God) that is eternal, has always been, without ever having a beginning, and through whatever this eternal “something” or “substance” is, all things derive their existence.

Week 1 - Reflection point 2:

__X __I have faith that the complexity of the universe randomly ordered itself.
Or
__X __I have faith that there has to be some designer to have such a creation.

_

Week 2 - Reflection Point 3
__X __Are Faith and Science mutually exclusive?
Or

Are Faith and Science required components of understanding and discovery?

Week 2 - Reflection Point 4
Which explanation for the origin of life seems more compelling?

__x __Young Earth Creationists - the Genesis account is the only measure of understanding the universe and it is science.

Intelligent Design - the Genesis account is not in conflict with Big Bang cosmology. But life in all its confines including humanity were unique creations by God.

Biologos - Evolution as understood by Darwin and others is supported by analysis of DNA. God is the author of all creation as well as DNA and through it all life was conceived. A special intervention into this creation set man apart as being in the image of God.

Darwinist Evolution - all human life as a result of natural causes. Diverse groups of animals evolve from one or a few common ancestors, and the mechanism by which this evolution takes place is natural selection.
