Everyday Jesus Notes 10.9.22
October 8, 2022

Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.

• Monday: Read John 6 for context of Christ’s scope, purpose & power. Note how people came to Christ for wrong motives and therefore missed full relationship with Christ. Seek the Lord to grow deeper in understanding the scope, full power and purpose of Christ at work in YOUR life.
• Tuesday: Read 6:32-35a, 5:30-47; Mt 11:28-30; Rev 7:9-17, Isa 55. A shallow/veiled understanding of true food of God exists. There is food & then food that fills [Snickers v Steak]. Pray asking God to provide spiritual food (depth) that satisfies your soul.
• Wednesday: [Day of Fasting] Read 6:35b, 4:1-45, 7:37-39. Belief quenches the thirst for righteousness. But there is depth of belief in the soul & a shallow belief that is mental assent. We only understand and define based on what we can compare to. So we can stay limited in understanding of Christ based on our own measuring sticks and points of belief. Which keeps of thirsting for more and trying to quench our thirst with worldly things. Today, ask Christ to fill you with depth of understanding leading to satisfying your soul.
• Thursday: Read 6:25-36 Many in the crowd, now called disciples, saw Christ but didn’t truly believe. What they saw were miracles and limited earthly results, all while missing eternal scope and heavenly purpose of Christ. Today ask the Lord to deepen your understanding of who He is beyond your own life experience and framework of beliefs. What more do you have for me to know, see and learn…
• Friday: Read 6:37a, 10:29, 17:1-26 After reading these passages: Seek the Lord to understand, Why did God., the Father give you to Christ
• Saturday: Read 6:37b, 10:28, 17:12, James 5:19-29. Hebrews 2:1, 12, Those in Christ will not be cast out. Scripture warns more than 20 times of our walking away from Christ. In John 6, Christ is speaking directly to those that called themselves disciples yet never allow their belief of Christ to go beyond their own limited earthly understanding. Today, ask God to deepen your understanding of Him so that you may truly be found in Him in every aspect of your walk with Him - eternally.
