Vertical Life Church exists for the glory of God. Our purpose is to move people to a deeper “vertical life” by loving as Christ loved us, growing in grace and knowledge, and going to make disciples. We believe that everyone is built to Love, Grow, and Go.
// Love
// GOD = LOVE
Mark 12:28
One of the scribes approached. When he heard them debating and saw that Jesus answered them well, he asked him, “Which command is the most important of all?”
Mark 12:29-31
Jesus answered, “The most important is Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is, Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other command greater than these.”
// What God wants most from His people is
. Love for
, and love for
.
John 13:34-35
[Jesus said,] “I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
// Loving
and loving
are intimately connected.
Member – as you partner with the church, you commit to love and serve each other. That honors God and honors people.
Magnifier – as you worship the Lord with your life, your life becomes a loving example for other people.
Minister – you serve the Lord by showing your love for others by serving them.
Maturing – what we said about the fruit of the Spirit.
Manager – As you manage your money, time, and gifts well, you honor God and advance the kingdom. This ultimately puts the gospel in front of more people, which is extremely loving.
Messenger – you are fulfilling Jesus’ command to share the gospel, and doing the most loving thing you can do for anyone, by sharing the good news of Jesus.
Multiplier – again, loving Jesus by doing what he commands – to make disciples, and loving people by helping them along in their walk.
