Don’t Judge
The Oxford Comma
All Scripture is inspired by God[a] and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. —2 Timothy 3:16
“Do not judge, so that you won’t be judged. —Matthew 7:1
“Go and sin no more”
So what does Jesus mean?
Jesus is concerned with is how we make those calls
For you will be judged by the same standard with which you judge others, and you will be measured by the same measure you use. —Matthew 7:2
To judge others, we must first rightly judge ourselves
Hypocrite! First take the beam of wood out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother’s eye. —Matthew 7:5
We are called to judge others by their fruits, not their failures
Our responsibility in the church is to create family
Don’t give what is holy to dogs or toss your pearls before pigs, or they will trample them under their feet, turn, and tear you to pieces. —Matthew 7:6
