John 14:1-15

Stress and anxiety fill our world. The One who stilled the storm provided His disciples with the prescription for inner peace, come what may. Jesus was “troubled” but did not sin (13:21). In John 14, He told His followers how they can deal with their “troubles,” and experience His peace.

  1. Read John 14:1 and remember the setting following John 13. What circumstances did the disciples have to be troubled about?
  2. Read John 14:2-3. What comfort can you receive from the promises of these verses?
  3. How does knowing the Person of Christ and His relationship to His Father (14:4-6) contribute to our personal peace?
  4. What good news does John 14:6 provide that we can share with others who need Jesus?
  5. What did you learn in John 14:13-15 that can strengthen your prayer life?
  6. Where are you troubled, anxious, or worried right now? What did you learn from John 14 to give you peace?
  7. Please talk to your group and begin to plan ahead for:
