Basic beliefs of Eckists
Soul is eternal.
Soul exists because God loves It.
Soul is on a journey of Self- and God-Realization.
Soul unfolds spiritually via karma and reincarnation.
Spiritual unfoldment can be sped up through conscious contact with the ECK.
Contact with Divine Spirit can be made via the Spiritual Exercises of ECK.
You can actively explore the spiritual worlds.
Spiritual experience and liberation in this lifetime are available to all.
Eckankar also has its own scripture, a writing called Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad meaning “Way of the Eternal.”
According to Eckankar, sin was a false belief created by “Kal,” its word for Satan, to keep the Soul ignorant. Jesus is associated with Kal and is considered evil or limiting to the Soul.
“For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Genesis 3:5
“And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about. For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.”
2 Corinthians 11:12-15
