And delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked to Him and were radiant,
And their faces were not ashamed.
6 This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
And saved him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him,
And delivers them. —Psalm 34:4-7

The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. —Proverbs 29:25

The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord have they who fear (revere and worship) Him, and He will show them His covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning. —Psalm 25:14
- He reveals secrets and gives revelation to the one that fears Him:
- Secret: to sit down together; people in close deliberation.
- The “intimacy” of the Lord is with them that fear Him. The AMP calls this the “sweet, satisfying companionship of the Lord.” Translated sweet counsel elsewhere.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. —2 Cor. 7:1
3. What actions should I take in relationship to the Fear of the Lord?
a.
Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord —Proverbs 1:29
The Fear of the Lord is not something that is forced upon you. It’s not God coming and doing a bunch of things to scare you. It’s a life-choice to live with worshipful reverence.
It can be modeled and encouraged, but each person must choose it. If you don’t choose the Fear of the Lord it can’t be forced upon you.
b. Learn and
Realize that it’s a key part of the life of a disciple and grow in it.
Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. —Psalm 34:11
As we grow as disciples, we grow in the fear of the Lord.

- Prophesying of Christ, Isaiah declared (11:3) he will delight in the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord is listed in verse 2 as a part of the 7-fold messianic anointing! His delight should also be our delight!
