Title: Revival into Riot
Passage: Acts 19
Speaker: Mitch Myer (Youth Minister)
Use the following questions based on today’s sermon as a starting point for spiritual discussions with your family or a small group of Christian friends this week.
Fellowship—Relationship with a Purpose
· When you have you been encouraged or strengthened by another person as a disciple of Christ?
· Is there someone in your life that God is calling you to encourage or strengthen as a disciple?
Growth—Thinking About Spiritual Matters
· What does Paul do when others are being stubborn, unbelieving, and speaking evil about the Way? Why did he do this?
· Luke gives God the glory for the miracles and what is happening in Ephesus. Are you someone who gives the glory to God or keeps it to yourself? Explain.
· These Jewish exorcists try to use the name of Jesus and a reverse-exorcism ends up happening. What is the difference between these Jewish exorcists using the name of Jesus versus the apostles?
· If everyone in our world today would repent, confess their idols, and know Jesus…what would they be throwing in a pile to burn to show they are done with their idols?
· What were the silver smiths and other craftsmen worried about with Paul and the gospel? How does this compare to our world today?
· The Way was a disruption to the idol worship of the day in Ephesus. How can we disrupt the culture of today without being violent or vengeful or angry?
Prayer – Taking Your Thoughts to God
· Be in prayer about where God is calling you to bring revival for His name at this point in your life.
