Proverbs 13:1-25
13:5-6 | Righteous people speak the truth, understanding that what a person says always comes back to them like a boomerang.
13:7 | The principles of God’s economy are opposite the world’s: the Bible says that when you give, you gain; when you hoard, you lose (Luke 12:20-21). Those who give, open the door for God to give back to them.
13:11 | Dishonest money will not last, but money gathered through honest work will grow. Accumulating financial resources does not require abundance, but faithfulness - a continual investment of even small amounts - will multiply with patience, self-discipline, and time.
13:24 | Discipline proves a parent’s love for his or her children. The Book of Proverbs, when taken as a whole, encourages its readers to use multiple levels of discipline, from calling out improper behavior to the use of corporal punishment.
