What Can We Say? – 1 John 3:1-3

  1. All who have gone before us Jesus as he is.
  2. They have God’s love.
  3. They are !
  4. The Lord remembers them and acknowledges them .
  5. As the saints above look at Jesus, we look to Jesus’ .
  6. We have been made of God through Jesus Christ.
  7. Also, like the saints above, we are recipients of God’s .
  8. When it comes to the Beatitudes, they aren’t just for the saints above. They are , too, here below.

What do you give thanks for as you remember your loved ones, who are in heaven?

How does it help you to remember that you share in the promises that were recieved by the saints in heaven?

How can you daily “run the race” of your new life in Jesus, until that day when God calls you home?

These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. —Revelation 7:14

…let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. —Hebrews 12:1-2

And when the fight is fierce, the warfare long,
Steals on the ear the distant triumph song,
And hearts are brave again, and arms are strong.
Alleluia! Alleluia!

The golden evening brightens in the west;
Soon, soon to faithful warriors cometh rest;
Sweet is the calm of paradise the blest.
Alleluia! Alleluia! —“For All The Saints,” by William W. How, LSB 677, sts. 6-7
