Call to Worship (Matthew 21:1-9)
All: “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”
Hymn | “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna”
Prayer of Confession (unison)
Gracious Jesus, we remember that the crowd shouted “Hosanna” on Sunday, and “Crucify him” a few days later. Our hearts are just as fickle. We ask you to provide, then cling to our treasure. We pray for your guidance, then go our own way. We ask for your forgiveness, then fail to forgive others. Lord, Hosanna! Save us from our sins; save us from ourselves, by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon (from Isaiah 44:21-22)
Leader: Let us remember, for the Lord will never forget:
People: He has blotted out our transgressions like a cloud, and our sins like a mist.
Leader: Let us return to God, for He has redeemed us.
People: Hosanna! Thanks be to God!
Gloria Patri
*Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen. Amen.*

Prayers of the People & The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed by Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever, Amen.

Affirmation of Faith (Westminster Larger Catechism, Question 194)
Leader: What do we pray for in the fifth petition of the Lord’s Prayer?
All: We pray, “forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” Acknowledging that we and all others are guilty both of original and actual sin, we pray that God of his free grace would, through Christ: acquit us both from the guilt and punishment of sin, accept us as his beloved, continue his favor to us, pardon our daily failings, and fill us with peace and joy, in giving us daily more and more assurance of forgiveness. We are then emboldened to ask, and encouraged to expect, that we from the heart forgive others their offenses.
