Warm Up Activity:
[Today we are going to study sins against the Holy Spirit.]
HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
1. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 and Ephesians 4:25-30. What is quenching the Spirit? What is grieving the Spirit?
2. What are some common ways that people may quench or grieve the Spirit?
3. What is the difference between quenching or grieving the Spirit and blaspheming against the Spirit?
HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
4. Take a minute to think back to a time in your life when you were most sensitive to the Holy Spirit? When you are ready, share about what that looked like. Share about why you think you were particularly sensitive to the Spirit in that season of your life? [Give people time to think. As the leader, be prepared to share first. Feel free to give people paper to write down some thought or notes.]
HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
