The Good News of the Gospel
The Gospel message of Jesus is good
- Because the Gospel message of Jesus is reliably
- Because the Gospel message of Jesus offers
- Because the Gospel message of Jesus is available to all
- Because the Gospel message of Jesus changes
- Share with your group something that made you glad, sad, or mad this week?
- Read Colossians 1:5-6; Ephesians 1:13; James 1:18; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; Galatians 2:5; What does it mean that the Gospel of Jesus is true? Why does it matter?
- Read Romans 8:24-25. Discuss the two ways Paul uses the concept of hope—subjectively and objectively. In what ways is hope the source of faith in Christ and love for the saints? How does the Christian’s hope influence the way they live?
- How often do you think about the gospel’s influence in other parts of the world? If so, share about what you have heard? If not, what is the reason you don’t hear about it?
- Read Mark 4:26-29. How does Jesus’ words about the kingdom of God relate to or compare with Paul’s words about the gospel in Colossians 1:6?
- How have you seen the gospel transform your life or someone you know?
- Read Colossians 1:7. What does Paul have to say about Epaphras in these verses? What spiritual leader has God out in your life from whom you have learned the truth of the gospel?
Discipleship challenge: Call a spiritual leader from your past who had an impact in your life.
