Scripture: 1 Timothy 6:6-10
I. When You Have Less: Learn the Art of Contentment
Why greed and accumulation won’t bring you joy:
You cannot keep what you gain.
You will encounter powerful temptations
You may wander from the faith
You will experience great sorrow
II. When You Have More: Learn the Art of Discontent
a. How do you cultivate discontent for worldly goods?
“Be rich in good deeds… be generous and willing to share” (v18)
b. How Can You Change What You Love?
The best way to overcome a misplaced love is to replace it with something better

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
