Basic Training - Faith Conversations

“15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,..” 1 Peter 3:15

Two basic faith story facts:
1 - If you are a believer, you have a story.
2 - Since you have a story, you need to tell it.

“18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Three Reasons Why You Need To Share Your Faith:
1 - If you do not have faith in Jesus, you will not be forgiven and be stuck in a life of sin, and sin sucks.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

2 - If you don’t have faith in Christ, you will never find your real purpose for living.

3 - If you do not have faith in Jesus and put your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior, you will spend eternity apart from God.

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

How to Share Your Faith Story:
1 - Share a little bit about your past.
2 - Share your conversion experience.
3 - Share who you are now.

“9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10

“14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:14-15
