Learn Compassion
Luke 10:25-37
July 3, 2022
When we encounter people who might be hurting, our response may be, “It’s not my problem, or I don’t have the time to get involved, or I don’t want to, or someone else should…” In this familiar passage, two people saw “inconvenience,” and one saw “invitation.” What will we do?
Entrapment
“The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” v29
Injustice
“A Jewish man was traveling from Jerusalem down to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits.” v30
Compassion
“Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him.” v33
Action Points:
If we loved perfectly, we would be perfect, but since we can’t - we need a Savior.
Doing what is in the best interest of another person even if you don’t like them.
Be the person who shows compassion and mercy.
