Creation: The Way God Intended
For the one seeking to live from a biblical world view the beginning is of utmost importance. Therefore it is of utmost importance that we begin with God. Most who will listen to this series will have no problem with this sentiment. However, scripture itself seems to point to a reality that we as humans have a tendency to forget, deviate from, and even willfully suppress this truth. If we are honest with ourselves there are some places in our life where we struggle to perceive and understand and respond out of the truth that it was indeed God in the beginning. At some point down the line God’s sovereign intentions will not line up with our minds and will and heart. Therefore, it will always be crucial that we are reminded that it is only by faith that we will not only please God, but understand as well.
“The way God intended”
We all have a category for “eden” in our life.
8 He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. — Matthew 19:8 (ESV)
8 “Remember this and stand firm, recall it to mind, you transgressors,
9 remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’
11 calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it. — Isaiah 46:8–11 (ESV)
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, — Ephesians 1:11 (ESV)
“In the beginning…”
The One writing down the answers happens to also be the One writing the questions.
“…God…”
The One. True. God. In plural.
“…created the heavens and the earth.”
God = creator
Everything else = created
“The way God intended”
We don’t understand all these things in order to believe God. We believe God that we may understand these things.
