Luke 19:28-45

Luke 19:38 –
Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord.
Luke Is Showing Us That:
1. Jesus is Lord of Sundays:
- He entered Jerusalem on a Sunday.
- He rose from the dead on a Sunday, Lk. 24:1.
- He launched the church on a Sunday, Acts 2.
2. Jesus was fulfilling Zechariah 9:9.
- He is your king, righteous and victorious.
3. Jesus was fulfilling Daniel 9:25.
- He is the Anointed One, the ruler.
4. Jesus may have been predicting His future worship by Gentiles, Lk. 19:40..
- Gentiles are sometimes called “stones,” 1 Peter 2:5.
5. Jesus will be fulfilling Ezekiel 44:1-3.
- The Gate is walled up now, He will enter through it someday.
6. Jesus is a prophet, Lk. 19:43-44.
- He predicted 5 actions that were fulfilled in 70 A.D.
a. The Romans would build an embankment around the city.
b. They would siege the city.
c. They would destroy the city.
d. They would kill its inhabitants.
e. They would level the city.
7. Jesus was fulfilling Exodus 12:3.
- He is the lamb that will take away our sin.
