⁵ “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, ⁶ who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, ⁷ but emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.

Going Deeper

Review Philippians 2:1-11

1) “When God made man, He did not make him selfish”, what main Scripture, if any, do you believe supports this point? Explain your choice.

2) “Knowledge alone cannot produce a Christ-like character”. Discuss this statement using Scripture references.

3) The preacher explained that Philippians 2:7, which talks about Jesus taking the form of a servant, does not mean “an exchange”. Is this your understanding of the text? Explain why or why not.

4) Discuss the following:

b. the Hypostatic Union

5) Do you believe that there is a difference between Jesus being Saviour and Him being Lord? Explain.
