Psalm 51 (Part I)

“The Power of Brokenness”

Brokenness is owning the

of our sin – I this!

People who conceal their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and turn from them, they will receive mercy. – Proverbs 28:13 (NLT)

Then David confessed to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.” – 2 Samuel 12:13 (NLT)

You will never find forgiveness for sins that you won’t admit are YOURS!

Brokenness is recognizing the

of our sin – I this!

For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night…Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves; then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness. – Psalm 51:3, 14 (NLT)

Until you understand the depth of the pain, you’ll never know the magnitude of the pardon.

Brokenness is accepting the

of our sin – I this!

A huge question we have to ask is, “Do I want to right the wrong, or just escape the punishment?”

You’re the One I’ve violated, and you’ve seen it all, seen the full extent of my evil. You have all the facts before you; whatever you decide about me is fair. – Psalm 51:4 (MSG)

Most people want justice until THEY are the one facing it!

Brokenness is the first step in

from our sin – I can this!

For God sometimes uses sorrow in our lives to help us turn away from sin and seek eternal life. We should never regret his sending it. – 2 Corinthians 7:10 (TLB)

Just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. – Romans 6:4 (NIV)

Brokenness is never just about forgiving the past.
It opens the door for a brand-new future!
