- What evidence is there that this world needs to be restored?
- Read Ezra 7:7-10 and Nehemiah 2:17-20. In contrast to Ezra and Nehemiah, how did God use Esther in her situation? What was not in her favor for her to be used by God?
- Describe how God used someone else in your life? What were the details of the circumstance?
- Read 1 Peter 4:10-11. What gifts has God given you to serve others and glorify Him? In what specific ways can you be ready for God to use you this year?
- What life circumstances did Esther have to overcome in order to be used by God?
- Read Ephesians 2:8-10 and Philippians 2:12-13. What circumstances or personal choices are keeping you from being used by God to do his work? What changes can you make in your life to be involved in the works God has prepared for you?
- Re-read Esther’s words in Esther 4:15-16. What do her words say about her heart? Why is a “If I perish, I perish” attitude so essential for a person to be used by God? (Mark 8:34-38)
