Proverbs 15:1-4 and 18:21


Depending on how you count, there are no less than 40 proverbs about our words and how we use them.

If anyone loudly blesses their neighbor early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse. —Proverbs 27:14

The tongue has the power of life and death. —Proverbs 18:21


1 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge,
but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.
3 The eyes of the Lord are everywhere,
keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
4 The soothing tongue is a tree of life,
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. —Proverbs 15:1-4

Speaking Life:


  1. Nothing sinful, idle, harsh, or

    In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise. —Proverbs 10:19

Jesus is what is true, builds up, offers hope, gives life. He really is all we have to talk about that’s worth talking about!
