SMALL GROUP GUIDE

  • Weekly Vision Casting: One of the key ingredients of small groups at Trinity is a Biblical foundation. How can we maintain a biblical foundation as a group?
  • Opening Prayer
  • Small Group Guidelines (if necessary)
  • Warm Up Question
  • Head, Heart, and Hand Questions
  • Personal Prayer Requests
  • SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

WARM UP: Describe a task/class/project that was challenging. What did it require of you, and what made it worth it?

HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
    1. Read 1 Peter 4:12-19 (CSB Version).
    2. In verses 12-13 what is Peter’s perspective concerning suffering “the fiery ordeal?” How does he view suffering? What is its purpose?
    3. In verses 14-16 Peter talks about suffering as a blessing. Why does he? Do you think of it that way?

HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
    4. Verse 19 points towards a deep trust in God amidst suffering. How do you move towards that kind of trust?
    5. Pastor Steve talked about the idea of being tested (Verse 12). In what ways do you see God testing you, whether in the past or currently in your life? How are you responding?

HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
    7. Take some time to read and think through Galatians 6:17, and Colossians 1:24-25, 28-29. Paul identified so deeply with Jesus. What does it look like for you to live a life more and more identified with Christ?
    8. What gets you most excited about identifying with/representing Christ by your life?
