WHY ARE WE THE WAY WE ARE?

Grand Opening Sunday
September 25, 2022
Pastor Brian

We are:
1.

-centered.

“One of the teachers of religious law…asked, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” Jesus replied, “The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The LORD our God is the one and only LORD. And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’” (Mark 12:28–30, NLT)

2.

-driven.

“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation to everyone who believes…” (Romans 1:16, AMP)

3.

-based.

“Christ’s love has moved me to such extremes. His love has the first and last word in everything we do. Our firm decision is to work from this focused center: One man died for everyone. That puts everyone in the same boat.” (2 Corinthians 5:14, The Message)

4.

-focused.

“This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step.” (1 Peter 2:21, The Message)

OUR 10x10 VISION

3) We will

4) We will

our members to use their gifts and skills in order serve others both inside the church and out in our community.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10, NIV)

5) We will

the next generation of church leaders by launching a seminary that will grow their knowledge of the Bible and provide hands-on opportunities for ministry in the local church.

“For you must teach others those things you and many others have heard me speak about. Teach these great truths to trustworthy [people] who will, in turn, pass them on to others.” (2 Timothy 2:2, The Living Bible)

6) We will

the adjacent kids space to become a world-class children’s ministry center.

“Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”” (Matthew 19:14, NIV)

the Oak Ridge Commons shopping center to become a destination for families with athletic fields, walking trails, a coffee shop, food vendors, a park, and a chapel!

“There you will be together with the LORD your God. There you and your families will eat, and you will enjoy all the good things for which you have worked, because the LORD your God has blessed you.” (Deuteronomy 12:7, NCV)

8) We will

monthly community give-back initiatives that demonstrate compassion and cooperation with our community partners in our new PEACE corner in the lobby.

9) We will

“Everybody comes alive in Christ! (1 Corinthians 15:22b, The Message)

“For I’m going to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! Do you see it?” (Isaiah 43:19, The Living Bible)
