
*So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. *Colossians 2:6-7
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” When they came together in Galilee, he said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life.” And the disciples were filled with grief. Matthew 17:20-23
- The Seed has
We tend to make big what God calls small and small what God calls big.
Our faith is only as strong as the object in which it’s placed.
Again He said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” Mark 4:30-32
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
It’s not the size of your faith that counts, it’s the size of your God that counts.
- The Soil has
Each person should remain in the situation they were in when God called them. 1 Corinthians 7:20
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you… Matthew 17:20a
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11
If faith can move mountains, doubt can create them.
- A Season of
Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! Psalm 42:11
God is over whatever you’re under.
…you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20b
Praise God for the faith to grow through for your breakthrough.

- Were you ever grounded by your parents as a child? Did you deserve it? How long were you grounded for? Was it worth it?
- Why do you think Jesus teaches us that our faith is like a seed?
- Are you growing in your faith by trusting God with the small things?
- Read Hebrews 12:11. God will ground us for the purpose of growing us. Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like you had been grounded by God? What kind of fruit or results did it produce in your faith?
- If faith can move mountains, then doubt can create them. What are some ways that we can deal with our doubt, so we don’t discourage our faith?
- Read Psalm 42:11. Why do you think it is important to praise God again when we are feeling down?
- What are some practical ways that you can praise God through your seasons of trouble?
- What mountains are you facing today, that by faith, you are praising God in advance to move?
