Day 28: A wedding and a war
In Revelation 19 we see a wedding in heaven described unlike any wedding you have ever seen before: The groom is the center of attention! The 1st part of Revelation 19 is the groom claiming and presenting and celebrating His bride and the 2nd part of Revelation 19 is that same groom coming as a conquering warrior to defeat His enemies once and for all! In chapter 20 we see the description of Jesus coming the 2nd time and it is what is called the millennial kingdom…the 1,000 year rule of Jesus here on this earth! The anti-Christ and false prophet are gone and now the great dragon is the only one left. Satan is thrown into prison for these 1,000 years. Jesus is in the seat of absolute and ultimate authority! No election needed. The righteous King is in the seat of leadership in this world! No more corruption in government, greed, political power plays, scandals. Those who have rejected God join the fate of Satan and are forever banished to the Lake of Fire!! Eternally separated from the presence and the help of God! Forever turned over to their desires and consequences of their sinful hearts! Jesus taught that hell is a place to be avoided at all costs. He taught that it will be a place of enforced separation from the presence of God. A place of darkness, it’s only sounds will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Hell is a fate far worse than one’s physical death filled with anguish, despair, and the complete domination of sin!

Q: Hell was created for the devil and his angels. Why do you think a loving God would condemn people and sentence them to Hell?
Q: What do you think life would be like in a place that is eternally dark and totally isolated from God and any loving communication or relationships?
Q: How does understanding the reality of hell for those that do follow Jesus affect the manner and in which we live today?
