Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.
• Monday: Read Jeremiah 51. Ch 51 is a good summary of our study. For year, God’s people didn’t listen. So at a point He sent Babylon to reset them & instruct them re: their relationship with Him. Where there are challenges in your life, ask God to Reset your relationship with Him so that your focus is on Him - only - instead of people, places or things.
• Tuesday: Read Jeremiah 51:1-24 & Isaiah 55. In Jer 51, God has used Babylon to punish many nations, now He will punish them too. It’s God’s way of refocusing us on Him. Ask the Lord what needs to be reset, in your life.
• Wednesday: {Day of Fasting} Read Jeremiah 51:1-24 Babylon’s conquests has led to their own pride & reverence. However, God’s character is far greater than man’s achievements. Today, in light of what seems powerful & daunting, read and pray over the truth of God’s character revealed in vv14-19.
• Thursday: Read Jeremiah 51:45-53 Even though it was for God’s purpose, Israel(Judah) has been deeply grieved by Babylon. Yet, even in distress He continues to instruct His people to: exercise faith and not faint because of news reports. We see and hear in our own strength and therefore we miss the vision & voice of the Lord. Today ask the Lord to give you His vision and to hear His voice with clarity so your faith will be strengthened and the report in the land will not overwhelm you.
• Friday: Read Jeremiah 51:45-64 While in their current mess, God speaks of what is to come. In vv47-53, the Lord speaks of Babylon’s fate. Specifically, with our life as our reward, take the words of v50 into your prayer today. In the face of what seems able to stop you: Don’t stand still! Remember His faithfulness over the years! Let His promises fill your mind!
• Saturday: In vv 59-64 Jeremiah instructs Seraiah to read God’s word of instruction, then tie a stone & throw it in the river. The point was that what nothing rises up against God’s word. Today, thank the Lord that what He speaks in His word is stronger than the thought of man or culture. Trust His word, with your life!
