1. Have you had moments / stretches in your life where you can relate to Sarai’s mistaken belief that God was out to get her?
2. How long do you tend to wait for the fulfillment of God’s promises before you decide to implement your own Plan B? How do you handle the tension between waiting for God to fulfill his promises and working yourself to make things happen?
3. Have you been tempted (perhaps when frustrated by God’s timing) to rationalize an unfaithful solution in order to achieve an end God promised?
4. Can you think of instances where you’ve felt particularly unseen?
5. Describe the difference between interacting with someone who doesn’t really see you and someone who truly does.
6. How does it change things to know that God is El Roi…that he sees you? Why does this name of God make a difference in our day-to-day?

Lord, thank you for seeing us…for truly knowing us and our situations. May we remember El Roi, and may the knowledge that you see us provide encouragement and courage..
