- How many of my REGRETS would have been avoided if I would have let the truth of God’s word guide my life?
2. How DIFFERENT would my life look if I would let God’s word penetrate my life?
Psalm 119:97-98 - Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. 98 Your commands make me wiser than my enemies…
* What do I think about all day long? How do the things that I think about impact my decisions all day long?
• Wisdom is the ability to read BETWEEN the lines.
Psalm 119:98 - …for they are ever with me.
• Ever with me means: a SATURATED mind.
Psalm 119:99 - I have more insight than all my teachers…
INSIGHT means: the ability to relate unrelated things in such a way that you see things that other people miss.
Here is why:
Psalm 119:99-100 - …for I meditate on your statutes. 100 I have more understanding than the elders …
Elder means: David is wise beyond his years.
Psalm 119:100 - …for I obey your precepts.
The best way to understand why God has asked you to do something is to DO it.
Psalm 119:101-102 - I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word. 102 I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me.
Psalm 119:103-104 - How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! 104 I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.
As we read God’s word, it will shape our VALUES and PRIORITIES.
Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
Psalm 119:106 - I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.
