  1. In Mark 15:21, we read about a man named Simon who was forced to carry Jesus’ cross. How does this passage demonstrate that God can use interruptions and inconveniences in our lives for his purposes? Have you ever experienced a “God-interruption?”
  2. In Mark 8:34, Jesus says that anyone who wants to follow him must deny themselves and take up their cross. How does this command challenge our culture’s emphasis on self-fulfillment and personal success? In what ways can this be lived out today?
