The reflection, in the expression of one’s goodness, should always reflect the GOODNESS of GOD.

Our goodness is not for God - Our goodness is from God.

  • Exodus 34:6 The Lord is merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth.

  • 1 Chronicles 16:34 Oh give thanks to the Lord for He is good!

  • Psalm 34:8 Oh taste and see that the Lord is good…

  • Psalm 33:5 The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

  • Psalm 107:9 [The Lord] fills the hungry soul with goodness.

  • Psalm 119:68 You are good, and [You] do good…

  • Psalm 145:9 The Lord is good to all, and his tender mercies are over all his works.

  • Matthew 7:11 Your Father who is in heaven, give[s] good things to those who ask Him!

  • James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from God the Father, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

The birth, death, and resurrection of Christ is not just the proof of God‘s goodness, they are also the source and pattern of any good, and all goodness we can do as Christians in our personal and public lives, within the church and in the world. —Christopher Wright

Heavenly Father, I pray that this day I may live in your presence and please you more and more.

Lord Jesus, I pray that this day I may take up my cross and follow you.

Holy Spirit, I pray that this day you will fill me with yourself and cause your fruit to ripen in my life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
